Pricing & Currency

All prices are quoted in euros (€), Net — excluding VAT, sales tax, and any local duties. You set the final retail price (plus your market's tax) in your country. The suggested retail price is our recommended floor — we ask partners to maintain pricing at or above this level so the brand reads consistently across markets. End-of-season markdowns are welcome; please reach out so we can coordinate.

Tax handling. For EU buyers with a valid VAT ID, reverse charge applies — you self-assess VAT on import. For non-EU buyers, the goods are zero-rated as exports under §6 UStG (German VAT law).

Ex-Works Berlin: our responsibility ends when the goods leave our atelier. Shipping, customs duties, and import taxes are settled on your side. See chapter 06 for shipping details.

Shipping

We ship via DHL Express or FedEx.

If you have an account with either carrier, we'll use yours — shipping costs are billed directly to you by the carrier.

If you don't, we arrange shipment on the NOWHOW account; the cost is added to your Final Invoice (FI).

If you prefer to organise shipment yourself through your own freight forwarder, that's welcome. In that case, we provide the customs documents — Shipment Invoice, Certificate of Origin, packing list — on request.

Repair

What we make, we also repair. Tending to a product over time is part of how we stay in relationship with it, long after it leaves our hands. We commit to keeping each piece in service for life.

For the first five years from delivery, repair is covered at no charge — manufacturing defects included. Beyond five years, we continue to take repairs in at cost, and we'll send an estimate before any work begins. Shipping to and from our Berlin atelier remains the buyer's (or end customer's) responsibility.

To start a repair, write to hello@nowhowstudio.com with a few photos and a short description of the issue. We'll confirm what's needed, share the return-shipping address, and get the piece back to you in good order.

Custom Colours

Our Calfskin Nubuck series — RIDGE, IGO, SLING, EIM, KAEST, BORDI, STAND — can be made in custom colours by special arrangement. Minimum 15 units per colour, combinable across models in the series.

Custom colours are coordinated directly via email. Write to trade@nowhowstudio.com with the model(s) and the colour direction; we'll send swatches, agree on a sample, and confirm the timeline.

Care for Your Bag

Each bag is handmade from natural leather. Color, texture, and small marks vary from piece to piece — these are inherent characteristics of the material, not flaws. Our leather is dyed with natural processes, which means slight discoloration or color transfer can occur, especially in wet conditions.

A few notes you might share with your end customers:

  • Prolonged direct sunlight can fade the natural dye over time.
  • Rain can cause discoloration and color transfer to clothing, lining, or other items. If the bag gets wet, wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth and dry in shade. Avoid rubbing against light-coloured clothing while damp.
  • Routine care: a soft brush — horsehair or similar — keeps the surface fresh. A waterproof spray suitable for nubuck or smooth calfskin extends water resistance, and a leather conditioner from time to time keeps the material supple.
  • The first few months: the leather is still settling — avoid overstuffing.
  • Marks and creases: embrace them. They are part of how each bag tells its story.
  • For repairs: if a strap loosens, stitching opens, or hardware breaks, send it back to us — see chapter 07 for our repair service.

We deliberately choose leathers for how they age — they soften with handling, take everyday marks without sulking, and develop a natural sheen over time. These care notes help when you need them, but our bags are made to be used freely; the more a piece has been carried, the more character it has.
